Andrew
Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of mental and emotional turmoil on family members. This early exposure ignited a deep understanding and a powerful conviction: I could help others. I attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Criminal Justice. I remained at Nicholls State as a Graduate Assistant where I earned my Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling in 1998. I then registered with the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners, completed my Internship, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2001. My path to becoming a counselor was driven by a desire to empower individuals and their loved ones, ensuring they never feel powerless over the grip that mental health disorders can have. It's about breaking free and finding your strength.
My counseling philosophy, while eclectic, is firmly anchored by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This approach recognizes that our thoughts and how we process information profoundly influence our emotions and subsequent behaviors. By gently guiding you to alter your perspective on challenges, we can reshape your emotional responses and ultimately transform your actions. It's about empowering you to reframe your narrative and reclaim your inner peace.
My deepest satisfaction comes from helping those who, despite facing adversity, are truly motivated for change. These are the individuals who refuse to accept the role of a victim, approaching challenges with a resilient 'say I won't' mindset. Witnessing them empower themselves, overcome fears, and regain control of their lives is not just inspiring; it's the very essence of why I do what I do. I am here to support your breakthrough, fostering resilience and embracing all competencies.

Honestly, I didn’t think talking to someone would change much, but I was wrong. My anxiety doesn’t run my life now, and I finally feel like myself again.

I was just drowning after losing her, and I didn’t want to pretend I was fine. Coming here was the only time I could just be, you know, like real?
M. Sterling
Everything at home was a mess, and we just kept yelling all the time. These sessions actually made us sit down and hear each other out without all the drama.

We were basically living in a minefield and I was ready to quit. But we’ve learned how to actually be a team again when things get stressful. Andrew saved our marriage, he really did.

I was so tired of explaining who I really am to people. Here, I just felt respected and safe while I went through my transition and everything.
